Sometimes when I breathe in, I hear this weird whistling sound. It's mostly when I inhale, rather than when I exhale. Do you think that's something I should be worried about? I don't really have any other symptoms and I'm feeling pretty good overall, but the noise is kind of strange and I'm not sure if it's something that needs urgent attention. Is this normal or should I get it checked out?

My wife's been dealing with a persistent cough for about 15 days, and she had a fever at the beginning, but it went away after 3 days. The same thing happened around this time last year, but back then, it was just a cough that stuck around for a month without the fever. We saw a doctor, and he ran some testsCT Chest showed consolidation in the right upper chest, and last years X-ray showed the same thing while the cough was there, but it went back to normal after a month. Her lab results came back with HB10, ESR99, TLC 3800, Platelets 1.1 lakh. Sputum AFB is negative from 3 samples, but the QuantiFeron Gold test is positive. There are no signs of weight loss or appetite changes. The doctor suspects it might be TB and started her on a regimen with Rifampicin, INH, Pyrazinamide, Ethambutol, and Pyridoxine. I'm just wondering because this issue occurred last year and now again but not in between. Should we stick with the treatment plan? Any insights would be appreciated.

Hey, I got my x-ray results back and it mentions "bronchovascular marking prominent." I'm a bit concerned and not sure what that means. Could you help me understand what might be going on or if it's something I should worry about?

The prominent bronchovascular marking seen in your x-ray report indicates increased markings of the blood vessels and bronchial tubes in your lungs. This can be a normal finding or may indicate conditions such as infection, inflammation, or fluid accumulation in the lungs. To provide a specific recommendation, it is important to determine the underlying cause of the prominent bronchovascular marking. I recommend further evaluation by a healthcare professional, such as a pulmonologist, who may suggest additional tests or imaging studies to make a definitive diagnosis. In the meantime, you can try over-the-counter cough suppressants like Dextromethorphan (e.g., Robitussin) to help with any associated cough. However, it is important to follow the recommended dosage instructions on the package.

Here's the thingwhenever the weather changes, I end up with this nasty cold and a bad cough with green phlegm, and there's a little chest pain too.
