I am suffering from alopecia areata with hair loss from the scalp, stomach, chest, legs, pubic region, and beard. My doctor prescribed Minoxidil 10 percent and told me this is due to stress. Now I am also seeing hair loss from the crown portion of the head. The doctor told me it is male pattern baldness. I do not understand what I should do as hair fall is increasing day by day. Is this incurable? This situation is making me more stressed. My blood test report is fine except TSH, which is 0.34. Should I try natural remedies like onion juice and others?

My prospective partner, age 41, says he has hypothyroidism and will be taking medicine lifelong. He is currently on Thyronorm 25 mg. He says it is genetic with half his family having the condition. A test report shows T3 and T4 within range, but TSH was 5.62 with a normal range of 0.35 to 5.5. The latest report from January shows T3 110 ng/dl, T4 9.2 g/dl, and TSH 3.68 IU/ml, all within normal range. The comments suggest that Thyronorm should be continued. Since the report shows that TSH was only slightly out of range subclinically, why does he have to take medicine all his life? Could it be that he has not shared all the reports and is sharing only those that show near normal results? At what levels of TSH is the condition called hypothyroidism and Thyronorm prescribed for life?

Good afternoon sir. My husband got his blood test in November 2017 and was detected with thyroid issues, but he was not taking any medicines prescribed by the doctor as he was very sure that it was normal and he could control his TSH level. Recently, when he got his blood test report again after feeling fatigue and loss of appetite, the report showed that his TSH level is 8.2. The doctor has advised him to take medicine for lifetime and prescribed a 10 mg tablet. My husband is still not sure if this TSH level is high for his age and whether he should take the 10 mg medicine or not? Kindly guide.

Suffering hives on skin. Presently I am using Manjishtadi Kada and Haridrakhandam since last one week. My test report is Anti TPO 95 positive.

Anti TPO positivity suggests autoimmune thyroid (likely Hashimotos). Skin hives are likely unrelated. Thyroid function tests (TSH, T3, T4) are advised.
