Today I received my complete blood report, which shows: Lymphocytes: 25% (low) WBC count: 9,600 Platelet count: 2.1 lakh For the past three days, I have had inflammation on the chest and armpit. I consulted a general physician, who suggested it might be a gastric problem. I am worried about HIV, as I had protected sex with an unknown partner one week ago. Could this be HIV? I do not have fever or other symptoms. Please advise on what steps I should take.

Low lymphocytes alone do not indicate HIV, especially without symptoms. HIV symptoms usually take 2 to 4 weeks to appear. Protected sex reduces risk significantly. Wait 28 days post exposure for an HIV 4th gen test.
Dr. Siri Suggests...
Take a CBC Test (Complete Blood Count) Test or Take a HIV DUO (ANTIGEN AND ANTIBODY) Test
