What are ideal values of lipid profile tests?
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
The normal range for cholesterol is up to 200 mg/dL. The normal range for triglycerides is less than 150 mg/dL. The normal range for HDL cholesterol is between 40 - 60 mg/dL (the higher the value, the better) The normal range for LDL cholesterol is less than 100 mg/dL

I had a complete body checkup a few months back and found that my SGOT and LDL cholesterol levels were slightly higher than normal. My report showed SGOT 36 optimal less than 34, SGPT 47 optimal 10 to 49, and LDL cholesterol 109.5 optimal less than 100. I did the same tests again two days ago from a different lab, and the results are SGOT 33 is 15 to 37, SGPT 63 is 16 to 63, and LDL cholesterol 110 is 70 to 180. I am not sure if the biological reference ranges given in both reports are correct, as they are different, and I am unable to understand if my current levels are fine. Can you please tell me the correct levels and if the reports are normal?
