View allI've noticed a small pea-sized lump in my chest area and sometimes experience chest pain too. I read online that it could be related to the xiphoid process. How can I confirm what this is, and if it needs to be removed, what's the usual cost for the surgery?
A chest lump near the xiphoid could be cartilage or lipoma. An ultrasound or CT scan can confirm. Surgical removal costs ₹15,000–₹40,000 typically.

I've been noticing some pus coming out of small openings on my back and my local GP mentioned it could be a pilonidal sinus, saying surgery might be the only option. I'm a bit worried is surgery really necessary or are there other treatments I could try first? What should I expect if I do need surgery?
Pilonidal sinus usually requires surgery for a cure; early cases might respond to hygiene and antibiotics but recurrence is common without surgery.

My 72-year-old dad is having hernia surgery on his left side since that's the more problematic side right now. The doctor plans to only operate on the left for now will the other side likely need surgery soon after, or can it be managed without another operation?
If your dad’s hernia surgery is successful on the left side, the right side may not necessarily require surgery soon. It will depend on how the left side heals and if the right side worsens over time.
