What does a successful life with diabetes Type II look like?
Each person's story and journey of handling diabetes is different. One thing which is mostly common is that with good diet, lifestyle changes, exercise and medications, most patients could lead almost a healthy lifestyle.
Treatment is either tablets or insulin to control blood sugar levels along with life style modifications (Diet + exercise).
It depends on the type of blood sugar test. Fasting blood sugar of 126 mg/dl or more, post prandial blood sugar of 200 or more is considered to be Diabetes.
Irrespective of type 1 or 2, Diabetes can be inherited and is linked to your family history and genetics but environmental factors also play a role. Not everyone with a family history of diabetes will get it, but you're more likely to develop it if a parent or sibling has it.
Figs are good in fibre content and when taken in moderation are good for diabetic patients. Avoid consuming huge amounts and also dried figs.
