After a high fever, I have severe itching that I am unable to control. All night and day I do not get a single moment of relief. A blood test report shows hemoglobin 10.4 gm percent and ESR (Wintrobe) 38 mm/st. There are no malaria or dengue symptoms. The physician said it is one of the typhoid symptoms, but in typhoid there should not be an itching problem. What could this be?

Persistent itching post fever with raised ESR and low Hb may point to post viral inflammation or early liver/kidney issue. Please take a LFT, RFT, and CBC.
Dr. Rohinipriyanka Suggests...
Take a LFT (Liver Function) Test Test or Take a CBC Test (Complete Blood Count) Test

View allMy wife had dengue fever last week and was hospitalized. She was discharged 3 days ago, but this morning she developed a fever again. We gave her Dolo 650 as per the doctor suggestion, which reduced the fever, but it returns whenever she sleeps and wakes up. We did a CBC test today: Hemoglobin 10.4, RBC normal, Platelets 295, WBC 14.5. I am concerned, does she need to be hospitalized again? Please advise
