Dear Doctors, my mother is 50 years old. She has been suffering from a urine infection for the last two and a half months and she also has diabetes. Even after regular checkups, her sugar levels are not under control and they fluctuate daily. Because of this her urine infection has not recovered. Please suggest what to do in this case. She feels very tired all the time and can only walk with support. She was admitted to the hospital for two weeks but the urine infection is still not resolved. I am attaching her urine report for reference. Please guide us with the best way to manage these problems as I want my mother to be active again.

Urine infections may take longer to heal in diabetic patients. Controlling blood sugar is key for recovery. Along with medication, equal importance must be given to diet and regular exercise. Proper hydration and follow up are necessary. A diabetologist and urologist are recommended. Whole body health checkups once a year help detect complications early.

I suspect I might have a kidney infection. My urine report shows albumin +++, RBCs are plenty, pus cells 3 to 4 per hpf, epithelial cells 1 to 2 per hpf, UBG 1+, BLD plus minus, PRO 3+, and LEU 3+. Could you please guide me on what this indicates and the next steps I should take?

I had a UTI two weeks back and took antibiotics (Nitrobact 100) as there was bleeding along with urine. From today morning, I have the same problem but without bleeding. My period is three days delayed, and there is a faint line on the urine pregnancy test. I drank a lot of water, and the symptoms have reduced a bit. Please tell me the reason for this, as I am scared. I am new to Mumbai and not aware of good hospitals. Please suggest a few urine tests to find out the reason for this? I am also planning to conceive.
