Hai Doctor, my period has been delayed by 8 days. I am undergoing treatment for fertility problems, and since starting treatment my periods had been regular. I visited my doctor today, and she asked me to take a urine pregnancy test, which came out negative. She advised me to wait for another 5 days, saying that sometimes fertilization can be delayed. My question is: can this really happen, is it useful to wait further, and is it safe to have sex during this time?

Yes, sometimes delayed implantation occurs. Waiting is helpful. Light intercourse is usually safe unless your doctor advised otherwise. Repeat test if no period in few days.

View allMy wife is facing some breathing issues since last one month. She is not able to complete her breath or feels short of breath and sometimes she has excessive yawning but cannot complete her yawn. In between for one week she was fine but again the same problem started. She also missed her period last month. Six months back she had a medical abortion. Today she had a blood test but her blood sample seemed to be a little dark in colour instead of bright red. We are waiting for the blood report. Kindly advise what could be the reason for this?

Madam/sir I missed my periods on 26th October. I took a test on 27th October beta hcg blood test that was negative and after 3 days I again took a test on 30th October that was positive 27.01. My question is I read online that one time beta hcg test is enough to detect pregnancy after missed periods. Why in my case it took 4 more days after missed periods? I got really worried?

Can I get a blood test on the 6th day after my embryo transfer, mam? I have no symptoms and am in the 2 week wait, so I am anxious about the results.
