Hello Doctor, My baby is 11 months old and had a fever for the past week. We consulted a doctor and she took Amoxycillin for 5 days. For the last three days, there was no fever, but she still had cough and cold. Now the fever has returned with a temperature of 99F. For cold we are using Moticope drops, and for cough, Korafast drops. We did a blood test, and the results are normal. I am very worried about why the fever has returned. I am attaching the blood test report for reference.

Recurrent fever after antibiotics may indicate unresolved viral/bacterial infection or post viral inflammation. Since the blood test was normal, monitor closely. Continue prescribed medicines and consult your pediatrician for further evaluation.

My father is 69 years old and is recovering from a post pneumonia lung infection. He has high blood pressure and diabetes, for which he takes daily medication. We did a blood test, and the report shows, platelets is 5.20 lacs, haemoglobin is 10.8, Serum SGOT is 99.33, Serum SGPT is 57.40, and D Dimer Quantification is 2544.47. What other tests should be done? Is this condition dangerous as the D Dimer is very high along with elevated platelets, SGOT, and SGPT? Last month, his platelets were 2.72 lacs.
