Question
Hello, I am a breastfeeding mother and currently suffering from dengue fever. I am experiencing body aches, high fever, fatigue, and weakness. My questions are: I heard that papaya leaf juice may help in dengue. Can I take this while breastfeeding? My blood pressure was 100/70 yesterday, is this a concern? I have not had a fever for the last 8 hours, but I still feel very weak and low on energy. My platelet count was 2.5 lakh and WBC 4600 on Monday, and on Tuesday it dropped to platelets 1.53 lakh and WBC 2300. How long does it usually take to recover from dengue and low platelets? Today is my 4th day of illness. I am taking plenty of fluids, including water, kiwi, and coconut water. I am currently on medications: Lenol ER, L Cin 500, rabeprazole sodium and domperidone dsr.

Yes, papaya leaf juice is safe in small amounts while breastfeeding. Your BP is normal unless you feel dizzy. Feeling weak even after the fever breaks is common. Recovery from dengue takes 1 to 2 weeks. Platelets often drop until Day 5 to 6, then begin to rise. You are doing well with fluids like coconut water, kiwi, and ORS. Keep resting, eat light food, and monitor with daily CBC. Your medications are fine, continue them as advised.
