Hello, I had a potential HIV exposure 85 days ago. Since around 75 days after exposure, I have been experiencing itching and irritation on my hands and feet. I took an HIV DUO test after 80 days, and it came back non reactive with a value of 0.82. I am very anxious because of the persistent itching. Can you please explain why my blood test is negative even though I am experiencing these symptoms?

A non reactive HIV Duo test after 80 days is highly reliable. Itching may be due to allergy or skin condition, not HIV. No further HIV testing needed. Consult a dermatologist if itching persists.

Good morning Sir/Madam, My son is 3.4 years old. He started with a simple runny nose which later turned into a dry cough. It has been one month that he is on treatment. Initially, he took cold related medicines for almost two weeks, including Cetrizine, Phenylephrine, Dextromethorphan, and Chlorpheniramine, but had very little improvement. Later, he developed ear pain, so he was given Augmentin antibiotics. He improved for only two days and then again started having a severe dry cough. His vitamin D level was found to be 53, and he is taking weekly 60000 IU. The doctor told us it is bronchitis and prescribed Levolin and Budocort three times a day. Even after 20 days of using the pump, there was very little improvement. Now, he has been given Prednisone and Cefixime for five days, but he is still coughing continuously, today is the third day of this treatment, and there is very little improvement. He does not have a fever. Please suggest what I can do to help his improvement?

It seems I have an allergic condition. I have also done an IgE test. I would like to know what treatment options are available for this.

Hi all. I have been having a chronic scratchy throat almost every month. It comes like a cold, stays for 5 to 6 days and then goes away. I was a smoker earlier, so I did spirometry to check whether it is asthma or COPD. Both reports were negative and the doctor advised Montek AB for 3 weeks. I also have acidity and gas issues for which I am taking Nexium D in the morning and Pan D in the evening. Today my CBC and blood report came (see attached). My serum IgE looks high. Can anyone review these two reports and let me know what is going wrong in me? My mean platelet volume is 13.6. Do I need to worry?
