Hi, last month I had an HSG test, which was normal. This month, I was given an HCG 5000 injection for ovulation. My left ovary released an egg a few days ago. Now, I have sharp pain in my left ovary once a day for 2 to 3 minutes. Is this normal implantation, an ectopic pregnancy, or something else?

Mild sharp pain on the side of ovulation after HCG injection and follicle rupture is common and can occur due to ovulation or corpus luteum formation. It is too early to confirm implantation or rule out ectopic pregnancy now. Monitor for severe pain, dizziness, or heavy bleeding, which need urgent care. To confirm pregnancy and location, do a Serum Beta hCG test 14 days post ovulation and follow up with your doctor if needed.

View allHi, today is the 12th day after IVF. Can I do a urine pregnancy test at home now? I have heard that sometimes urine test results may differ from a blood beta hCG test. Which test would be more reliable at this stage?
