Hi, last month I had an HSG test, which was normal. This month, I was given an HCG 5000 injection for ovulation. My left ovary released an egg a few days ago. Now, I have sharp pain in my left ovary once a day for 2 to 3 minutes. Is this normal implantation, an ectopic pregnancy, or something else?

Mild sharp pain on the side of ovulation after HCG injection and follicle rupture is common and can occur due to ovulation or corpus luteum formation. It is too early to confirm implantation or rule out ectopic pregnancy now. Monitor for severe pain, dizziness, or heavy bleeding, which need urgent care. To confirm pregnancy and location, do a Serum Beta hCG test 14 days post ovulation and follow up with your doctor if needed.

View allDear Doctor, my period is 12 days late, and I have taken a pregnancy test which is negative. Please help me understand what could be the reason and what I should do.

I had unprotected sex 40 days ago. I had my menstrual period three days before having unprotected sex and it lasted for 3 days. A week ago, I took Meprate, and I experienced severe cramps with dark blood clots, but the bleeding is not heavy. My home pregnancy test came back negative. Could I still be pregnant?

Today I tested positive on a pregnancy test. Should I consult a doctor immediately or wait for one more week? My last menstrual period was 5 days ago, on 20th November.
