Hi, my wife has been having a urine infection for the last 2 to 3 days, and the burning sensation is not subsiding. We started her on Alkasol, and she took 2 to 3 doses, but the burning sometimes improves and sometimes comes back. A week ago, she had a severe throat infection for which she took antibiotics and cold medicines after consulting a doctor. During that time, we did almost all tests, including urine culture, urine routine, CBC, and dengue profile, but almost everything was negative, except a slight positive result in urine routine, and the culture was normal. Please advise what to do now?

Persistent burning during urination may suggest incomplete resolution of UTI or irritation from antibiotics. If the urine culture was negative, it could be a non bacterial or post antibiotic irritation. Continue Alkasol + 2 to 3 liters water daily. If symptoms persist for more than 3 days, repeat urine routine + culture, and consider a mild urinary antibiotic like nitrofurantoin (only if prescribed). Consider getting a Pelvic Ultrasound done to rule out the cause of UTI.
Dr. Rohinipriyanka Suggests...
Take a URINE ROUTINE + CULTURE SENSITIVITY Test or Take a CBC Test (Complete Blood Count) Test

View allHi Doctor, during my 19th week of pregnancy, my urine test report showed blood detected in the urine. Is this something to be concerned about?
Answered by Apollo Doctors
I am 15 weeks pregnant and recently had a urine test which showed 2 to 4 pus cells and 1 to 2 epithelial cells. I would like to know if this indicates an infection and whether I need to take any medication. I have attached my report for your review.

Hi, my baby, 4 years old, has had a fever for the past 2 days and went for a urine test as he is passing urine frequently, almost every 30 minutes, drop by drop. Please find the report below and let us know if he has an infection?
