Hi Sir. I have had back pain for one week, and today I developed fever, cold, and cough. I got my blood and urine tested. After the urine test, the doctor informed me that I have a urinary infection. The test showed albumin (present +) and pus cells 3 to 4/HPF. The doctor suggested taking Cystone syrup. After one day, I am fine from fever, cold, and cough, but I sometimes get pain in my right lower rib. What should I do?

The presence of albumin and pus cells in urine suggests a mild urine infection. Fever and cold improving with treatment is a good sign. However, right lower rib pain could mean the infection is mildly affecting the kidney area. Its best to repeat a Urine Routine Test and do a Renal Ultrasound to check for kidney involvement. Drink plenty of fluids and complete your course of medicine.

Take a Urine Routine Test Test or Take a Urine Protein- Quantitative- Spot Urine Test

View allI am experiencing sharp ache on the left side of my body. I have a cyst in my left ovary measuring 3.5 cm. I am also having constipation, nausea, a feeling of fullness, and vaginal itching. My urine report shows RBC absent, pus cells 4 to 5, epithelial cells 8 to 10, and no yeast detected. Urine has been sent for culture. I am taking medication for UTI. Is this okay?

Is 5-6 pus cells/HPF normal in 50-year-old men?

Hi, my wife and I went on a 12 days international vacation and were scheduled to go for our 12 week pregnancy scan immediately after returning. We had a long international flight and got the scan and urine test immediately. While the NT scan and other reports are fine, the urine report shows 6 to 8 pus cells with a urine pH of 8. Is this possibly due to temporary dehydration from travel or is it something more serious? My wife does not have any other symptoms and is fine. We are asking this since we can only meet our doctor in a wee time. Thanks.
