Hi, today is the 12th day after IVF. Can I do a urine pregnancy test at home now? I have heard that sometimes urine test results may differ from a blood beta hCG test. Which test would be more reliable at this stage?

A urine test on day 12 post IVF may show early signs of pregnancy, but it can still give a false negative. A Serum beta hCG Test is more accurate and can detect even low levels of pregnancy hormone. Best done on day 14 for confirmation.

View allI had protected sex with my partner on 12th June and got my periods on 21st June, which was very light compared to usual and lasted for three days. I took a pregnancy test after a week, which was negative. I took another test after four days, which was also negative. Now in July my period was due on 21st July but I am nine days late. Is there any chance of pregnancy?

My wife is taking Susten 200 tablets to get pregnant. She has crossed her period date (regular 28 day cycle). We checked with a urine test on the 32nd day, and it was negative. I would like to know if the missed period is due to the Susten 200 tablet or if we did the pregnancy test too early? Thank you.

Hi, my friend has had irregular periods for a long time, occurring once every 2 to 3 months. She consulted an allopathy doctor and all tests, including thyroid and scans, were normal. The doctor suggested it should improve after her marriage. She continues to have hair fall but no weight gain or loss. I suggested consulting an Ayurvedic doctor from Kerala. She is taking the medicines suggested by the doctor, but this time it has been 2.5 months and she has not got her period. Before that, her periods continued for 2 months, though the flow was very less. She is also worried about pregnancy, but they are not planning to have children for another 1 to 2 years. She did home pregnancy tests twice in October, once in the first week and once in the last week, after skipping her 2 month period. Just in case, the urine test was a false result. They are planning to go for a blood test. Is it possible that the home test was wrong both times, and can the blood test report be trusted?
