How can I check progesterone levels in the body, and which blood test is used to measure serum progesterone?
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
To check progesterone levels in the body, a Serum Progesterone Test is done. This test is usually performed through a simple blood test, often around day 21 of the menstrual cycle if checking for ovulation. Your doctor will guide the timing of the test based on your cycle or pregnancy status to interpret the results accurately.

Hi, I am recently pregnant again after a miscarriage in May. I am being overly cautious with this pregnancy, so I requested a blood test for my beta HCG and progesterone levels. The first test showed beta HCG 89 and progesterone 3.6. The second test revealed my beta HCG was 195, so it more than doubled, which is good, but my progesterone is still pending. I am concerned because I truly believe low progesterone caused my previous miscarriage. The doctor did not seem too concerned. Should I be worried?
