Currently, there are no specific treatments for dengue. However, supportive treatment for dengue is the best way to recover from internal bleeding and shock. Remember to take plenty of fluids and refrain from taking aspirin to avoid internal bleeding.
A hematocrit level increase greater than 20% is a sign of hemoconcentration and precedes shock. The hematocrit level should be monitored at least every 24 hours to facilitate early recognition of dengue hemorrhagic fever and every 3-4 hours in severe cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever or dengue shock syndrome.
Usually, multiple organs are affected due to dengue fever. However, the liver is the most affected during dengue infection.
The average time period of the treatment of dengue is between 4 weeks to 6 weeks.
