While taking Novelon continuously for a month may help with pain and slow the growth of a 5.6 cm chocolate cyst, it's unlikely to shrink it enough to avoid surgery, especially if the cyst is large and causing significant issues. Surgery is often recommended for cysts larger than 8 cm or if they cause pain or infertility problems
