I have undergone some tests for my kidneys and am seeking expert opinion. The right kidney measures 8.5 x 5.1 cm, and the left kidney measures 12.6 x 6.8 cm. The lab report states a shrunken right kidney with a scarred surface and pelviectasis, suggestive of sequelae of a prior infection. The left kidney shows a small extra renal pelvis and increased post void residual urine volume of 85 cc?

Shrunken kidney suggests chronic damage; residual urine may indicate incomplete bladder emptying. A urologist should evaluate for function and obstruction. Regular follow up is advised.

While we plan to consult a nephrologist, could you please advise on dietary interventions that may help manage her blood profile and support kidney function?

Hi Sir/Madam, My grandmother has been admitted to the hospital with a creatinine level of 2.1 and a urinary tract infection. She is also diabetic. I would like to know if this condition can lead to dialysis, or if there is a chance that her creatinine levels can be brought down with treatment. If dialysis becomes necessary, how long would she need to continue it? Please guide us.
