I previously had intense pain in my legs and joints. After consulting a doctor, I was diagnosed with high uric acid (7). I took medicines regularly for a month and repeated the test today, the result is 6.1, but I understand it should be below 6. Could you please suggest what medicines may be needed and what foods should be included or avoided to help maintain uric acid levels? The patient is also taking medicines for diabetes.

Uric acid of 6.1 is mildly high for someone with joint pain. Avoid red meat, seafood, alcohol, and sugary drinks. Eat fruits, vegetables, and drink more water. Recheck Uric Acid Test every 3 to 6 months.

Dr. Hema Suggests...

Take a Uric Acid Test Test or Take a RA Factor Test (Rheumatoid Factor) Test
