I was diagnosed with diabetes 4 months ago, and my doctor advised me that I would not need medication if I improved my lifestyle. At that time, my HbA1c was 6.5. Since then, I have focused on my diet and walked regularly for 1 hour daily. After 3 months, my HbA1c dropped to 6.01. Today, I checked my blood sugar using a testing kit, my fasting reading was 100 mg/dL, and 1.5 hours after eating, it was 102 mg/dL. Does this post meal result mean low sugar? Is this something to worry about, or does it mean my diabetes is under control or even reversed? Please clarify what this indicates.

Your HbA1c reduced from 6.5 to 6.01 with lifestyle changes, which is excellent progress. Fasting sugar of 100 and post meal sugar of 102 are within target, and post meal can sometimes show similar values if meals are light and healthy. This does not mean low sugar, it shows your sugar control is good. Continue your diet, regular walking, and healthy habits. You can book an HbA1c test every 3 to 6 months to monitor long term sugar control.

Take a HbA1c Test (Hemoglobin A1c) Test or Take a Urine Routine Test Test
