Question

I'm 25 and have been having trouble breathing for about 6 months now. I got a 2D echo done, and it says I have mitral valve prolapse with mild mitral regurgitation and type 1 diastolic dysfunction. How serious is this, and is there a chance it could get worse over the next few years?

At those moments, I can really feel my heart beating faster when I put my hand on my chest. I did talk to a cardiologist about it, and they recommended an ECG, which turned out normal. But I'm still really worried. Could these be warning signs, and should I consider getting more heart-related tests just to be on the safe side?
