Is a liver SGOT of 30, good?
The normal range of an SGOT test is generally between 8 and 45 units per liter of serum. If your reports indicate 30 then you are fine.

People tend to develop fatty liver if they have certain other conditions, such as obesity, diabetes or high triglycerides. In addition, alcohol abuse, rapid weight loss and malnutrition may also lead to fatty liver. However, some people develop fatty liver even if they have none of these conditions.
SGOT and SGPT are normal up to 40 units, therefore, SGPT of 108 and SGOT of 54 are mildly high and indicate hepatocellular damage. Although it is not dangerous however a consultation with a doctor might help you know the root cause.
Painkillers can cause liver enzymes to be elevated. Hence you are recommended to take them only if your doctor has prescribed you to take so.
Cirrhosis is a long-term (chronic) liver disease. The most common causes are hepatitis and other viruses, and alcohol abuse. If you suspect having liver cirrhosis then you are recommended to get tested and consult with a hepatologist at the earliest.
