My doctor has put me on progesterone suppositories since day 14 of my cycle to support a possible pregnancy. My period is four days late, and I have a negative home pregnancy test as well as a negative blood test. Can the progesterone suppositories be causing my period to be late?

Progesterone supports the uterine lining and can delay your period even if you are not pregnant. Since both home and Beta hCG blood tests are negative, pregnancy is unlikely. Your period should resume after stopping the suppository. If not, retest or consult a gynecologist.
