My father is 76 years old and has hypothyroidism. He has been taking Thyronorm 25 mcg daily for more than a year. His recent blood test results are: T3: 90.55 ng/dL (normal range for above 50 yrs: 40 to 181 ng/dL) T4: 4.7 microgram/dL (normal range for above 60 yrs: 5 to 10.7 microgram/dL) TSH: 20.9 microIU/mL (normal range for 55 to 87 yrs: 0.5 to 8.9 microIU/mL) Should his dose be changed or kept the same? If it needs adjustment, what should the new dose be?

TSH is high and T4 low, suggests under treatment. His dose likely needs to be increased (under doctor guidance). Repeat thyroid profile in 6 to 8 weeks after dosage adjustment.
