My father recently recovered from COVID 19. At the time of admission, his D dimer was elevated at 592, but on the day of discharge, it was below 200. My question is, how many times should the D dimer test be done after recovery?

No repeat is needed unless new symptoms (breathlessness, leg swelling) appear. D dimer normalization suggests recovery. No need for regular monitoring if asymptomatic.
Dr. Yusuf Suggests...
Take a D Dimer Test Test or Take a CRP Test (C - Reactive Protein) Test
