My last period was on 22nd July, and my pregnancy test is positive. An ultrasound shows a small gestational sac, but no cardiac activity is detected yet. How long should we wait for cardiac activity to appear, or could this indicate another issue? Please advise.

If your last period was on 22nd July and the ultrasound shows a small sac without cardiac activity, it may still be early. Cardiac activity is usually seen by 6 to 7 weeks of pregnancy. Your doctor may advise a repeat ultrasound after 1 to 2 weeks to check for cardiac activity. Get a serum beta hCG test if advised to track pregnancy progress.

View allI am married, and my last menstrual period was on May 9. I usually have a regular cycle of 27 to 28 days. We take proper hygiene measures after intercourse. I have not yet had my period this month. I experienced cramps around my expected date, but my period did not arrive. I took a home pregnancy test on the 34th day, which was negative. It has now been 36 days. Should I wait longer, try period inducing foods, or do heavy workouts? Please advise.
