My mother has been taking Eltroxin 50 microgram every morning on an empty stomach. Recently, she has been experiencing heart palpitations, anxiety, and a fast heart rate. Her recent thyroid test results are T3 (Total) is 0.7 (Normal is 0.7 to 2) T4 (Total) is 15.16 (Normal is 5 to 12) TSH is 1.72 (Normal is 0.55 to 4.7) Should her Eltroxin dose be reduced?

High T4 and symptoms may suggest overtreatment. TSH is normal but on lower side. Review dose with her doctor; dose adjustment may help.
