Having your thyroid removed at age 20 is not a problem for pregnancy as long as your TSH remains normal with proper medication. Many women with no thyroid conceive and deliver healthy babies. Youll need to monitor TSH and Free T4 every 4 to 6 weeks during pregnancy, as dosage may need adjusting. The baby thyroid function is usually unaffected if your levels are well managed.
