Sir, I have been experiencing daily chest pain for the past 2 months, mainly between 5 to 8 a.m. My recent investigations are as follows: Chest Xray report: Heart size: Normal Lung fields: Clear Costophrenic angles: Free Blood report: RBC: 4.35 million/microlitre Total WBC: 10,400 cells/microlitre Neutrophils: 73 percent Lymphocytes: 22 percent Monocytes: 3 percent Platelets: 1.7 lakh/microlitre MCV: 106 fL MCH: 36 pg MCHC: 34 g/dL RDWCV: 14.5 percent ESR: 1st hr 20 mm, 2nd hr 35 mm

High MCV may indicate B12 deficiency or alcohol use. Chest pain requires further evaluation despite normal Xray.

My father has been a chain smoker for many years. Recently, I have noticed that he has become very lethargic, has lost interest in daily activities, and is also showing signs of forgetfulness. Although he has reduced his smoking, he has not quit completely. I am concerned whether these symptoms could be a result of long-term smoking. Kindly advise.
