Sir my amylase is 174 but previously it was always between 100 and 130. I have pain in the middle abdomen with discomfort, irritation and more gas passing. I am very upset. I have been taking medicine for more than 12 months but no benefit. Why has my amylase suddenly increased and I have middle type pain. Is this reversible. Some time ago I was normal but suddenly my lipase level is normal. I always have discomfort and pain. I have taken a lot of alcohol. The doctor says I have esophagus pain. Please help sir. I am submitting my report.

Amylase 174 is slightly high and upper?abdominal gas pain can follow alcohol or pancreatic irritation. Your normal lipase is reassuring. Limit alcohol, fatty foods, and caffeinated drinks. If pain stays, we scan the pancreas to rule out chronic pancreatitis.
