Book Lab Test
It was 7 years ago when my blood pressure was first identified as high during a routine check-up. After monitoring for a week, I was diagnosed with hypertension and started on medications, which I continue to take. My yesterday reading was 170 by 120. Current medications are Nexovas M 50, Telista 40, and Minipress XL 2.5. I also have a 15 year history of depression and a 4 year history of anxiety disorder, for which I take medications. My cardiologist suggested testing for pheochromocytoma. Urine reports were normal, but blood tests showed elevated metanephrines and normetanephrines. I underwent an MIBG scan, and no tumor was detected. Kindly suggest possible reasons for my high blood pressure and the elevated blood levels. Does this indicate anything else since pheochromocytoma has been ruled out? I do not smoke or drink.
