If 40 days have passed with no period, its time to confirm with a Beta HCG blood test. Sometimes urine tests can miss early pregnancy. If Beta HCG is also negative, missed periods may be due to stress, hormonal imbalance, or lifestyle factors. Late periods are common and usually not serious.

I have had two early pregnancy losses last year, each within about one week.
