Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral disease that spread to people through the bite of an infected Aedes species mosquito. Symptoms of dengue usually begin 3 to 14 days after infection and may include high fever, headache, rash and muscle and joint pain. In severe cases there is a risk of serious bleeding and shock, which can be life threatening. Dengue is usually spread by several species of female Aedes genus mosquitoes, principally Aedes aegypti, The virus has five serotypes, infection with one serotype usually gives lifelong immunity to that serotype, but only a short-term immunity to the other serotypes. Subsequent infection with a different type increases the risk of severe complications. This package helps in detection of the dengue antigen.
