Question

I'm having a lot of pain on the left side of my throat and the back of my tongue over there, plus my left ear is aching really bad. I don't have a cold, but it really hurts when I swallow. What could be causing this?

Could be indicative of a condition known as tonsillitis. Tonsillitis is often caused by a viral or bacterial infection and can result in inflammation and pain in the throat, tongue, and ear. To help alleviate your symptoms, you can take over-the-counter pain relievers such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen to reduce pain and inflammation. Additionally, you can try using throat lozenges to soothe your throat. It is also important to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids and get plenty of rest. If your symptoms persist or worsen, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional for further evaluation and treatment.
