I've been dealing with hair fall for around 4 years now. A dermatologist suggested I use minoxidil, first in 2%, then 5%. Initially, I wasn't told that I'd need to use it for a lifetime. My hair fall stopped, and I got some growth back, but a year ago, a friend mentioned that minoxidil could have side effects with long-term use. So, I stopped it, and my hair fall came back worse than before. My hair, especially in the front and on the crown, got really thin. I've started using minoxidil 5% again. Is there a chance my hair can grow back? Is it okay to stop and then start using minoxidil again? Are there any long-term side effects of using minoxidil for an extended period? Can I safely keep using minoxidil 5%?
