Question

I've been chewing gutkha for about 5 years and noticed an ulcer on the gum near my upper wisdom tooth a month ago. I stopped the habit for two weeks and the ulcer healed, but theres still a skin growth at the jaw joint and pain when I open my mouth. I visited a surgical oncologist who mentioned it might be a premalignant condition like leukoplakia with white discoloration. I was told to stop chewing entirely and given some supplements and a mouthwash. The tenderness mostly went away after 23 days, but now the pain at my wisdom tooth gum has returned. Do you think theres a high chance of this turning into cancer?
