Question
I've been dealing with pharyngitis and had a throat culture done, which showed klebsiella pneumoniae present. I took antibiotics, and while some symptoms have improved, others linger. How can I know for sure if the bacteria is completely gone, and could the pharyngitis be caused by something else? If I get a repeat culture test and it comes back negative, does that definitely mean the bacteria is gone, or is there a chance it's still there but just not growing right now? Could you clarify this for me?
