Question
I've got a bit of a situation here. I tried eating a bunch of French fries at once, and I think the sharp edges scratched my throat. Now I've got these little red patches on my throat wall, and it hurts when I swallow. Do you think this will just heal on its own, or should I be taking something for it?

To help with the pain and inflammation, you can try using a throat anesthetic spray to numb the area. Additionally, you can take over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen (e.g. Advil) to reduce the pain and inflammation. Gargling with warm salt water can also help soothe the throat. If the symptoms persist or worsen, it's best to consult with a doctor for further evaluation and treatment.
