Question

I've noticed this lump on the left side of my tongue, more on the ventral surface. It's not painful and you can't see it from the outside, but I can feel it when I squeeze my tongue with my teeth. I recently quit smoking, and I'm worried if this could be something serious? It's really uncomfortable, even though there's no pain. Should I be concerned about this?

Lumps in the muscles of the neck are caused by injury or spasm of the neck muscles (torticollis). These lumps are often at the front of the neck.
