My father is 80 years old and has been suffering from fever for the past 10 days. He was on antibiotics for 5 days and admitted to the hospital after an X ray showed pneumonia and his blood report showed a high WBC count (16,400). After one day of treatment in the hospital, the fever subsided, but the doctor advised to continue treatment for 5 to 6 days before discharge.
