Can I have a urinary infection for years without knowing it?
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
Yes, it is rare but asymptomatic bacteriuria can occur. Research suggests that this is more common in older adults than younger adults.

View allDear Doctors, my mother is 50 years old. She has been suffering from a urine infection for the last two and a half months and she also has diabetes. Even after regular checkups, her sugar levels are not under control and they fluctuate daily. Because of this her urine infection has not recovered. Please suggest what to do in this case. She feels very tired all the time and can only walk with support. She was admitted to the hospital for two weeks but the urine infection is still not resolved. I am attaching her urine report for reference. Please guide us with the best way to manage these problems as I want my mother to be active again.

Hello, my father is facing some problems: urge and itching during urination, brown yellowish urine, dizziness, fever, and loss of appetite. He went for a checkup and the doctor said it is a urine infection and gave him medication for 5 days. After three days, all problems went away and he felt normal. The medicines were Pyridium 100, Nimegesic P, and a heavy antibiotic (I do not remember the name). After 5 days, the doctor advised discontinuing the treatment. Now after 3 days, the problem started again. He went to the doctor and was given the same medication plus Nitrobact 100. Again all symptoms went away. Please tell what the problem could be? I have attached the urine report.
