Can I take Sporlac DS and Pantop 40 at the same time? I'm a bit concerned and would love to know if there's any issue taking them together. Would really appreciate your advice on this.

  1. Safety and Interactions:

    • Taking Sporlac DS (Lactobacillus) with Pantop 40 (Pantoprazole) is generally safe.
    • No significant drug interactions are known between these two medications.
  2. Medication Purposes:

    • Pantoprazole reduces stomach acid, which might affect probiotic survival, but Lactobacillus can still be effective.
  3. Timing Recommendations:

    • Consider taking Sporlac DS a couple of hours apart from Pantop 40 to maximize probiotic benefits.
  4. Consultation Advice:

    • Always inform your healthcare provider about all medications and supplements you are taking.
    • If you experience any unusual symptoms, contact your healthcare provider promptly.

I'm experiencing some really uncomfortable symptoms like acidity and my abdomen feels bloated. I've also got a lot of excess gas and loose stools. Plus, every time I drink water, I need to urinate immediately, though the urine looks normal and there's no burning sensation. Does this sound like something I should be worried about? What's going on with me?

Avoid problem foods. If certain foods make your signs and symptoms worse, don't eat them. These may include alcohol, chocolate, caffeinated beverages such as coffee and sodas, medications that contain caffeine, dairy products, and sugar-free sweeteners such as sorbitol or mannitol. If gas is a problem for you, foods that might make symptoms worse include beans, cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli. Fatty foods also may be a problem for some people. Chewing gum or drinking through a straw can lead to swallowing air, causing more gas.

Doctor, my SGOT is 53 and SGPT is 75, plus I have Gilbert syndrome and multiple gallstones with the largest being 7.2mm. I'm considering surgery but I'm a bit worried is it safe to go ahead with it given my condition?

Gilbert syndrome and mildly raised LFTs usually don’t cause surgical risk—discuss anesthesia clearance and hydration protocol with surgeon.

I'm really worried because my SGPT level is at 75 and my total bilirubin is 7.5. Could you tell me what I can do to bring down the bilirubin levels? And how long might it take for everything to get back to normal?
