Hi Doctor, I am a 27 year old woman and have been trying to conceive for 4 months without success. I recently went for a scan and blood tests. Blood tests are all normal, but the pelvic scan showed small follicles in my ovaries, which may be why my periods have been delayed (my cycle has been about 40 days for the past two months). My doctor prescribed Metformin and plans to do a scan from days 10 to 14 to check for ovulation. I am worried, is it okay to take Metformin to help with these immature follicles? My previous scan showed: Right ovary: 3.5 x 2.0 x 2.3 cm Left ovary: 3.4 x 2.0 x 2.6 cm The recent scan shows: Right ovary: 3.1 x 1.8 x 2.9 cm Left ovary: 2.6 x 1.8 x 2.9 cm Please explain what is happening with my ovaries and whether these results indicate any major problem.
