Found a 1.5 cm gallstone stuck in my gallbladder neck are there any ways to treat it without getting surgery? I'm really hoping to avoid an operation if possible. What are my options?

A 1.5 cm gallstone stuck in the gallbladder neck can cause pain and complications like cholecystitis. Unfortunately, non-surgical options like medications (e.g., ursodeoxycholic acid) are often ineffective for stones this size or location. Surgery (laparoscopic cholecystectomy) is the most definitive and safe treatment.

View allIs it possible to just remove gallstones without taking out the whole gallbladder? Some doctors recommend surgery but say the gallbladder needs to be removed entirely. I'd prefer finding a surgeon who can take out only the stones is that an option?
yes advised.

My 72-year-old dad is having hernia surgery on his left side since that's the more problematic side right now. The doctor plans to only operate on the left for now will the other side likely need surgery soon after, or can it be managed without another operation?
If your dad’s hernia surgery is successful on the left side, the right side may not necessarily require surgery soon. It will depend on how the left side heals and if the right side worsens over time.
