Got into an accident and my knee is swollen with pain - attached the report. Do I need surgery or will plaster be enough to fix it?

It's impossible to determine if you need surgery or just a plaster (cast) based solely on a description of knee swelling and pain after an accident. A doctor needs to examine your knee and review the accident report, potentially including imaging like X-rays or MRI, to diagnose the cause of your symptoms. Plaster casts are typically used for fractures, while surgery might be necessary for injuries like torn ligaments or menisci.

I had a knee injury 4 weeks ago and now it's really stiff I can only bend it to about 80 degrees. My doctor says I need at least 100 degrees of flexion before surgery, but my ligament tear is making movement tough. I'm doing daily physio is it really necessary to get that much bend before they can operate? Just worried if pushing too hard could cause more harm.

A detailed evaluation will help decide the best course of action.
