I had a knee injury 4 weeks ago and now it's really stiff I can only bend it to about 80 degrees. My doctor says I need at least 100 degrees of flexion before surgery, but my ligament tear is making movement tough. I'm doing daily physio is it really necessary to get that much bend before they can operate? Just worried if pushing too hard could cause more harm.

I've had knee pain for 10 years and been doing physiotherapy for the past year. My hip joint snaps when climbing stairs with slight pain, but the main issue is IT band pain at the knee.
