Hai Doctor, my period has been delayed by 8 days. I am undergoing treatment for fertility problems, and since starting treatment my periods had been regular. I visited my doctor today, and she asked me to take a urine pregnancy test, which came out negative. She advised me to wait for another 5 days, saying that sometimes fertilization can be delayed. My question is: can this really happen, is it useful to wait further, and is it safe to have sex during this time?

Yes, sometimes delayed implantation occurs. Waiting is helpful. Light intercourse is usually safe unless your doctor advised otherwise. Repeat test if no period in few days.

View allI had unprotected sex 40 days ago. I had my menstrual period three days before having unprotected sex and it lasted for 3 days. A week ago, I took Meprate, and I experienced severe cramps with dark blood clots, but the bleeding is not heavy. My home pregnancy test came back negative. Could I still be pregnant?

I am married, and my last menstrual period was on May 9. I usually have a regular cycle of 27 to 28 days. We take proper hygiene measures after intercourse. I have not yet had my period this month. I experienced cramps around my expected date, but my period did not arrive. I took a home pregnancy test on the 34th day, which was negative. It has now been 36 days. Should I wait longer, try period inducing foods, or do heavy workouts? Please advise.
