Hello Doctor, My girlfriend and I have been having regular sexual activity for over a year. I did an FTA ABS test one month after my last sexual contact, and it was negative. I want to know if this test result is conclusive.

A single FTA ABS test may miss early infection. Consider repeating after 3 months. Also take VDRL and HIV to rule out other STDs.

I had unprotected sex 2 to 3 years ago. I did two HIV tests after 2 years, both of which were negative. I have no symptoms, but I want to get tested for other STDs besides HIV. Hi, My doctor has prescribed several tests for my husband and me before our IUI. We have already done tests like Vitamin D, HSG, prolactin, thyroid, and semen analysis. Now, just a few days before the IUI, we are being asked to do four more tests: HIV, anti HIV, HBsAg, and VDRL. The procedure is becoming very costly. Are these tests really necessary before IUI?
